    Sarah Wilcox first found her interest in animals through Coastline Regional Occupational Program in Costa Mesa, taking a class in animal health care at the age of 15.  In 1996 she volunteered at AAA Animal Hospital and Huntington Beach Humane Society.  From 1996 through 1999 she worked as a kennel attendant/receptionist/vet assistant at Warner West Pet Clinic in Huntington Beach. Deciding to pursue an interest in emergency care she worked at Central Orange County Animal Clinic in Newport Beach from 1999 through 2001 and again in 2002-2003.  She also worked as a relief veterinary assistant at Northwood Animal Hospital and Advanced Critical Care and Internal Medicine.  She came to Canyon Animal Hospital in 2001 and started attending Professional Veterinary Assistant School in 2003 to obtain her Registered Veterinary Technician license, sitting for the California State Board exam and passing on December 30, 2004.  She left Canyon Animal Hospital in 2004 to work at Veterinary Pet Insurance, and returned in 2006 as an RVT and supervisor. She is currently attending California State University Fullerton as an English Literature major and has plans to become a Certified Veterinary Practice

    Manager. She ownes 2 dogs, a pug named “Leroy” and a Chihuahua named “Zeppelin”

  • Melissa-

    Melissa McCormick grew up in La Quinta, CA and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS in Animal Science in 2004.  While attending university she was the President of the Animal Health Science & Technology Association from 3/04 to present, on the Animal Health Science Advisory Committee and a representative for the Cal Poly Agriculture Council from 2002 through 2004.  She worked with laboratory animals as an animal caretaker while at Cal Poly Pomona, as well as working an internship at the Orange County Shelter in the summer of 2004.  Melissa sat for the Veterinary Technician National Exam in May 2004, and obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician license in November 2005.  She started working at Canyon Animal Hospital in March 2004.  Currently she has an English Bulldog named “Abby”, a cat named “Bubba”, and two rabbits, “Megatron” and “Ultramagnus”.
